Thermosetting powder coating - Introduction
Thermosetting powder coating is a kind of coating material with special properties. It is composed of fine powder resin, pigments, fillers and additives, etc., through electrostatic adsorption and thermal curing to form a strong coating.
Thermosetting powder coatings have the following properties:
1. Chemical resistance: has good chemical resistance, can resist acid, alkali and other corrosion.
2. Wear resistance: has good wear resistance, can protect the coating substrate from wear.
3. Temperature resistance: It has high temperature resistance and can maintain stability in high temperature environment.
4. Weather resistance: It has good oxidation resistance and weather resistance, and can maintain the color and luster of the coating for a long time.
5. Good absorbency: It has good electrostatic adsorption performance and can be evenly adsorbed on the surface of the substrate during the coating process.
Thermosetting powder coatings are widely used in metal products, furniture, automobiles, machinery and equipment, electrical appliances, construction and other industries. It can be used as a protective layer, decorative layer, electrical insulation layer, etc., to provide surface anti-corrosion, anti-scratch, anti-ultraviolet and other functions.
The preparation of thermosetting powder coatings is generally divided into two steps: electrostatic adsorption and thermal curing. First, the powder coating is passed through the electrode to generate an electrostatic charge, and then a negative charge is applied to the surface of the substrate, so that the powder coating is electrostatically adsorbed on the surface of the substrate. Next, the coating is placed in an oven for heat curing, and the powder material is melted and leveled at high temperature to form a strong coating.
When using and handling thermosetting powder coatings, you need to pay attention to the following safety information:
1. Avoid contact with eyes and skin, and wear protective gloves and goggles if necessary.
2. Operate in a well-ventilated environment to avoid inhaling dust.
3. Follow the instructions and safety instructions provided by the paint manufacturer.
4. When disposing of paint waste, it should be disposed in accordance with local waste disposal regulations to prevent damage to the environment and health.
